About the Lab

The UGA Forest Health Lab focuses on forest insect research and outreach to provide practical guidance on natural resources management.  Currently, lab projects involve hemlock woolly adelgid, Nantucket pine tip moth, stream macroinvertebrates, and pollinator habitat in urban forests.

Forest Health Lab News

Chandler Purser will be joining the Forest Health Lab as a new MS student in January 2026.  He will study insecticide-based pine tip moth management.

Cassandra Waldrop won first place MS student presentation at the 2024 Southern Forest Health Work Conference.

Elizabeth traveled to Canada to present at the 10th Annual Hemlock Managers Meeting in August 2024.
